Bucktails
Two types here,
northern deer tails and saltwater/big game deer tails. The
saltwater tails have hair that is listed as "4 inches or
longer." Also, the saltwater tails are just generally bigger tails than the
northern tails...more usable hair. Tough call, they are more expensive, but you
get longer hair and more of it. I use the "regular" ones for most
bucktail jigs, the longer haired ones for bigger jigs and long
flies. There are many colors, I will list just the ones that I
use. If you need a different color, let me know and I'll get it,
same price as the others.
Bucktails in bulk
Here's a good
deal for you guys that are going to be tying lots and lots of
jigs...or even lot of flies, white is easily the most popular
color bucktail I use, even if I wasn't tying jigs! I'm going to
make them available in bulk, save you some $$. Ok, I'll offer
yellow ones in bulk as well, I know some of you guys like yellow
jigs!

Strung Saltwater Saddle Hackles 6-8"
These are the hackles that I use to tie the majority of my hackle flies. They are not Orvis quality feathers, but they are certainly worth the price! I find about 20% of them have a twist in the stem at some point, usually towards the base. That's why I use 6-8" hackle, most flies I tie call for 4" or less hackle length...so I can use almost 100% of the feathers. I'll put aside all the ones that are perfect for thier entire length and save them for really long flies! I've seen the exact same feathers in fly shops for $30/ounce!
