**As far as I know, these are not available commercially tied in the fashion Lou Tabory originally tied them or intended them to be tied anywhere...except here. The few I've found commercially available have been so poor that they needed a lengthy title to let the customer "know" what he was supposedly buying. A fly this important deserves to be recognized by looking at it, not through a lengthy description replete with excuses. This is the single most important bunker imitation we've ever found.

Tabory's Slab Fly, Medium: This pattern was made famous by Lou Tabory, he's a fly tying genius in my book! Of all Lou's patterns, I've fallen in love with the Slab Fly and the Snake Fly, both are unique and well thought out. This is a difficult fly to tie, but well worth the effort. They are unique in that their dimensions are nearly exactly those of a small to medium sized bunker, they cast well and maintain their shape and profile in the water. The entire fly wiggles and looks very alive in the water. It's the only pattern I use when after fish breaking in schools of peanut bunker. It's also an excellent searching pattern when bigger fish are around. Yes, they are expensive...but in a fly shop, you'd pay this much for a poor imitation tied in Taiwan that may or may not work, these have our guarantee backing up our words...anyone else offer you a guarantee on a fly?
