If you are wondering what a swimming needlefish
looks like, Choopy and I put together a video -
Choopy
Swimming Needlefish video -
that's what they look like on a steady retrieve, no rod tip action at all -
these needlefish actually swim!
Needles with a swimming wiggle...and in that 3/4oz - 1 1/2oz range that's a wonderful
middle of the line weight between the 3/8oz minnows and 2oz bottles that are the
ends of the spectrum for most folks.
Wired through with stainless, realistic eyes and the colors came out better than
I envisioned when he asked me what colors I wanted. The belly hooks are 4X VMC -
but he cut each one by hand and crimped them on the swivel - a less he got, no
doubt, from my personal plug building master, Mike Fixter
The rear hooks on the 1 1/2oz size are bucktailed siwash hooks - not just a
plain white tail...tails that
match the plugs! The smaller size have a matching bucktail on the back, but with
the hook cut at the bend so just the bucktailed shank remains - exactly like all
the Hahn plugs of old were made...except these bucktails match the plug color
:-) All are nicely tied...Choopy also ties flies and it shows in his siwash
tails. A solid epoxy finish to keep them in fishin' condition.
I gotta say, for somebody so angry, he makes solid, functional and fish catchin'
plugs - I think he gets that from Oznavad
