Ryan's own words explaining these limited edition/collectors/fundraiser plugs -  I just wanted to take a moment to explain the whole concept behind these limited edition plugs. Over the years Tim and I have had a few discussions about the current trends in the wooden plug market. He has had to endure the telling and retelling of my philosophy with respect to keeping the prices at a reasonable rate regardless of what the market would bear. Tim has always kept those prices reasonable even when he could have sold my stuff for more money. That little fact is something I greatly respect and appreciate. This little limited run of plugs is simply a way for me to say thanks to Tim and the site. The concept is fairly simple. I built them and sold them to Tim for basically the same wholesale price I always sell them for (slightly increased to cover the added expense of laser engraving) but that Tim, with my blessing, could sell them for a higher rate than normal. The way I would look at it is that for a few bucks you get a decent plug and make a nice little contribution to a site we all appreciate greatly. Whether you buy them to fish with or to hang on the wall – you’ll know that the bulk of the proceeds went to support this place that so many have come to call home. Although it doesn’t show well in the picture – the lettering on the back of the plug is laser engraved into the wood itself. Obviously the 2009 run is limited to those I sent Tim – there will never be another FB made in 2009 with the SOL name/year etched into it. I also tried to do some different colors and a few old favorites. I thought they came out nice. The photograph shows the colors available. I was hesitant about doing the natural finish but once I had them done I decided I really liked that simple look so I kept one :-) Ryan
