Eel Punt's plugs are simply amazing. They are wired through with 4X VMC trebles, have color matching bucktails on the back, excellent detail and fantastic paint jobs. They are also among the best casting wooden swimmers I've had the privilege to throw!

The finish is extremely durable and the eyes prominent and believable - they are as tough as they are pretty :-) And the best part is they catch fish in all sorts of conditions, not just very calm waters like many wooden swimmers...these things will hold in rough water that bass love to feed in where other swimmers would pop out and tumble. They can be fished right on the surface with a deadly tail wagging that tortures striped bass or fished just subsurface when the bass aren't willing to come all the way up. They are heavy enough to get a teaser out there to really increase your chances at scoring :-)

In general, I would fish them just fast enough to get the head down and the plug wiggling while allowing the tail to break the surface and call in the stripers. When a wave pulls on the lure as it comes up, you can either hold tight and let the plug dig a little deeper or slow down and let the plug suffer through the top of the wave. Hits at the top of the wave can be spectacular if it's light enough to see them :-)

As always, keep your hooks sharp, land your fish quickly and release them safely. Never before have our stripers been under such intense fishing pressure, they need our respect more now than ever before - treat them like the amazing fish that they are :-)
